
Louth and Meath Education and Training Board (LMETB) is delighted to announce the appointment of Ms. Christina Wall, as Deputy Principal at Enfield Community College, Enfield, Co. Meath. Christina joined the staff team of Enfield Community College in September 2020 as a teacher of Maths and Applied Maths when the school opened its doors for the first time. Christina also held the post of Assistant Principal I at the school working in the areas of ICT Co-ordinator and Wellbeing Co-ordinator. Christina now joins the senior leadership team of Mr. Shane Foley, Principal and Mr. Gordon Mc Donnell, Deputy Principal at Enfield Community College.
Christina holds a Masters in Educational Leadership, Management and Policy from Trinity College Dublin, a Professional Master of Education from Maynooth University and a Bachelor of Maths with Education from Maynooth University.
Bringing a wealth of experience to the post, Christina recognises the link between high quality teaching, learning and assessment methods and student attendance, motivation, retention, achievement and attainment and she is committed to supporting and promoting student attendance, student progression, wellbeing and student supports at the school.
Christina has a specific interest in student leadership and student voice and looks forward to expanding the range of opportunities for students to develop their leadership skills during their time at Enfield Community College.
Christina has an extensive range of experience in the areas of Curriculum Development and Review, Policy Development and Review, Subject Department Planning, Review and Evaluation, Inclusion, Special Education, teacher reflective practice and Continuous Professional Development, Induction for Newly Qualified teachers, integration of Digital Technologies into Teaching, Learning, Assessment and School Leadership. Christina looks forward to continuing working in these areas across the school.
Speaking about her appointment Christina states “I am delighted to be appointed as Deputy Principal of Enfield Community College. Having had the privilege of being a part of the school since we first opened our doors, I have witnessed firsthand the commitment, passion, culture, and spirit that defines Enfield Community College. It is a privilege to continue my journey alongside such dedicated teachers, SNAs, leaders, admin and ancillary staff as we support the growth and development of our students and our school. I look forward to working closely with the leadership team and the broader community to further strengthen the positive, inclusive, and dynamic learning environment that makes our school so special.” As a Deputy Principal within the LMETB Schools Directorate, Christina will also have the collegial support of the Senior Management teams in LMETB’s seventeen other Post Primary schools, four Community National Schools, Cara Community Special School, three PLC colleges and the Centre for European Schooling in Dunshaughlin.
LMETB schools receive considerable support, guidance and direction from the Director of Schools, Ms. Fiona Kindlon and within the Organisation, Support and Development Directorate, LMETB Schools and Colleges avail of a range of supports including Human Resources, Buildings, ICT, Finance and Corporate and Education Services. This network of support at Head Office level supports the work of the LMETB Board in ensuring that all LMETB schools/colleges/centres are compliant in the areas of Corporate Governance. Christina looks forward to engaging with personnel in these sections of LMETB over the coming weeks as she plans for transition to her new leadership role as Deputy Principal within LMETB.
