What is Specific Skills Training?

Specific Skills Training offers full-time and part-time courses ranging from six to forty weeks duration.

Courses are offered in centre or by blended or online learning. They are designed to provide learners with a range of employment related skills and formal vocational qualifications to assist those entering employment for the first time and those wishing to upskill or reskill.

Specific Skills Training gives learners the opportunity to develop cutting edge skills and knowledge, making them more employable and enhancing their career options.

Specific Skills Training courses are free and learners may be paid a training allowance for the duration of their course. Learners can also claim an accommodation allowance if they need to live away from home for the duration of the course, or a travel allowance if relevant.
