Adult Learning Service

This service is for anyone who wishes to improve their basic literacy, numeracy or IT skills in a supportive environment. It also provides English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). The service is free and confidential and classes are designed to meet the needs of each learner. Day and evening classes are available on an ongoing basis throughout the year.

Examples of courses offered include:

  • One-to one classes, where learners work individually with a tutor
  • Small group classes in a range of subjects – including everyday maths, spelling, reading and writing, computers
  • English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

LMETB’s Adult Learning Service also delivers family learning courses in local schools which are included in the national Delivering Equality of Opportunity in Schools (DEIS) plan. Family Learning classes help parents and children learn together.
