The Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre of Excellence (AMTCE) aims to provide the training required by businesses for the successful transformation to Industry 4.0 technologies and practices.
The AMTCE supports people to reskill or upskill in technologies and processes relevant to advanced manufacturing, for example, in Engineering, Pharma, BioPharma, Food and Drink sectors.
AMTCE offers an extensive course catalogue to companies and their employees, designed for the needs of industry and delivered by leading industry training practitioners. Manufacturing sector employees or individuals wishing to pursue new careers in the sector have the chance to gain QQI Level 5/6 certifications or vendor certified technology skills.
AMTCE also participates in LMETB AMTCE FET Advanced Manufacturing Pathways Schools Project, which forms an intrinsic part of LMETB’s vision for training the next generation of second level students. The project, which is a collaboration between the FET and Schools Directorates in LMETB, is offered as part of the FET structured Pathways and Transitioning opportunities for students and learners to participate in and experience FET. The aim is to inspire Transition Year students to consider high-skilled STEM careers, and to broaden teachers’ views of the careers on offer.
