Ireland’s first electrical apprenticeship college opens in Drogheda

The centre will deliver training for over 300 apprentices every year.

A new craft skills training hub has been officially opened in Drogheda this morning.

The first of its kind in the country, the centre will deliver training for over 300 electrical apprentices every year.

Over four million euro in funding will be provided through SOLAS to the Louth and Meath Education and Training Board (LMETB) for the poject, also creating up to 20 new permanent jobs in the region.

The new electrical apprenticeship college is located at the LMETB’s College of the Future in the Drogheda Business & Technology Park on the Donore Road.

The Minister for Further Education Simon Harris officially opened the training hub this morning and says it will bring many benefits to the area:
