The REACH Fund 2026 aims to support those who experience the greatest educational disadvantage by enabling their access to and participation in community\u2011based learning. The fund places a strong emphasis on engaging learners who may be distant from education, helping them to take part in meaningful adult learning opportunities within their local communities. Its core purpose is to widen participation, build skills, and support learners at NFQ Levels 1\u20133 to progress along flexible learning pathways into Further Education and Training (FET) and beyond. REACH funding cannot be used to support learners in PLC courses, Youthreach, or programmes at NFQ Level 4 or higher.<\/p>\n
The funding is specifically designed to address inequalities and enhance access to community education. It aims to support educationally disadvantaged learners in accessing and participating in local community\u2011based learning opportunities and must be used to assist organisations working with individuals who have unmet learning needs.<\/p>\n
This funding call is open to all Community Education providers and groups across Meath and Louth. LMETB FET Service invites applications from local organisations seeking support for initiatives that reduce barriers to participation and re\u2011engage learners who may face educational disadvantage. Organisations may submit more than one application, and each project may apply for funding up to a maximum of \u20ac5,000.<\/p>\n

It aims to increase the participation of disadvantaged learners, particularly those who are undertaking literacy and skills programmes. The fund has a strong focus on building the digital infrastructure of community education providers, including providing devices and software, and increasing their capacity to deliver learning. The fund was specifically designed to tackle inequalities and support access to community education, and also intended to address specific actions in the Adult Literacy for Life (ALL) Strategy to target funding on access to technology and devices, expand community access to wi-fi and broadband resources and to directly address unmet literacy needs.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n The purpose of the Reach fund is to assist ETBs to increase their capacity and that of community education providers to address the decline in participation of disadvantaged learners particularly those on literacy and basic skills programmes at NFQ levels 1 to 3. The fund places a strong focus on community education as a mechanism to continue to support and engage with disadvantaged learners. In addition, there is a focus on enabling the investment in building the digital infrastructure of providers and their capability to ensure that online learning\/blended learning can be delivered in a way that meets the complex needs of learners. Proposed projects should have no adverse impact on existing services or provision funded through the ETB<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n LMETB are responsible for the administration and management of funding within its region.\u00a0 Funds are allocated by SOLAS to LMETB under the Reach Fund programme.
