Louth & Meath Community Education Service supports new and existing community groups and organistaions to establish community – based education programmes. It prioritises individuals and groups that experience education/social disadvantage or social exclusion. Programmes are offered on a part-time basis in non-formal, community-based settings and are intended to foster personal development and skills enhancement for group members.
The type of course offered depends upon the needs and abilities of the group. LMETB Community Education Service Louth supports new and existing community groups and organisations to establish community- based education programmes. It offers support to community education groups through Community education grants/ tuition hours. The group itself plays a role in deciding the subject area of any course. The type of course offered by LMETB depends upon the needs and abilities of the group. Courses may also be QQI accredited.

Further Education and Training or FET, offers a wide variety of life-long education options to anyone over 18. FET includes apprenticeships, traineeships, Post Leaving Cert (PLC) courses, community and adult education as well as basic literacy and numeracy services. FET courses and programmes are provided through the Education and Training Board network throughout the country as well as through other local providers including online through SOLAS’ eCollege. FET courses are provided at levels one to six on the National Qualifications Framework.
