The Adult Learning Service Dundalk provides tuition to adults who wish to return to learning in a supportive environment. Classes are designed to meet the needs of each learner. Learners may work at their own pace in a one to one setting, or in a smaller group. Day and evening classes are available. The service is free and confidential.


All learners can work towards achieving a national certificate. QQI Levels 1, 2 and 3

Intensive Tuition in Adult Basic Education A 14 week course, 6 hours per week which offers the learner the opportunity to improve their basic skills in reading, writing and numeracy at a more intensive level
Skills for Work A programme designed to provide tuition opportunities to help employees deal with the basic skills demands of the workplace. Themes include Communications and IT,
Family Learning This programme offers parents the opportunity to enhance their own skills and improve their ability to help their children learn.Programmes include: Exploring books with your child; Story Sacks, Homework help, Maths for Parents, Creative Play, Baking with Numbers, Lads and Gadgets, Making the big move-the transition to secondary school
English for Speakers of other Languages(ESOL) Classes are provided to pre-intermediate level.


Search for a Course

Further Education and Training or FET, offers a wide variety of life-long education options to anyone over 18. FET includes apprenticeships, traineeships, Post Leaving Cert (PLC) courses, community and adult education as well as basic literacy and numeracy services. FET courses and programmes are provided through the Education and Training Board network throughout the country as well as through other local providers including online through SOLAS’ eCollege. FET courses are provided at levels one to six on the National Qualifications Framework.
