The Adult Learning Service provides tuition for adults who wish to return to learning in a supportive environment. The service is free and confidential. Classes are designed to meet the needs of each learner. Day and evening classes are available.

What does this service offer?

The Adult Learning Service offers one-to-one and group tuition to learners who wish to improve their basic skills.

Programmes offered include

One-to-one support
Small group tuition in a range of modules and subjects
Intensive Tuition in Adult Basic Education (ITABE)
Junior Certificate (English and Maths)
Family Learning
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
Skills for Work
Initial Tutor Training for Voluntary Tutors
Literacy Awareness Training

Search for a Course

Further Education and Training or FET, offers a wide variety of life-long education options to anyone over 18. FET includes apprenticeships, traineeships, Post Leaving Cert (PLC) courses, community and adult education as well as basic literacy and numeracy services. FET courses and programmes are provided through the Education and Training Board network throughout the country as well as through other local providers including online through SOLAS’ eCollege. FET courses are provided at levels one to six on the National Qualifications Framework.
