What is the Louth Adult Education Guidance and Information Service (laegis)?
Louth Adult Education Guidance and Information Service Laegis is part of a countrywide initiative to promote and support adult education. Laegis provides information, advice and guidance to adults who are considering returning to education/training, changing career or seeking information on possible educational opportunities available to them. The service is free and confidential.
Who is this service for?
The service is available to adults in County Louth and to those aged 16+ no longer in full-time schooling. A one-to-one guidance service is available to adults taking part in, or thinking of taking part in: the Adult Learning Service, BTEI, Community Education, VTOS or PLC courses. The guidance service is also available to clients of the Education Finance Board. Our education information service is open to all adults in County Louth, by drop-in, telephone or email.

Search for a Course
Further Education and Training or FET, offers a wide variety of life-long education options to anyone over 18. FET includes apprenticeships, traineeships, Post Leaving Cert (PLC) courses, community and adult education as well as basic literacy and numeracy services. FET courses and programmes are provided through the Education and Training Board network throughout the country as well as through other local providers including online through SOLAS’ eCollege. FET courses are provided at levels one to six on the National Qualifications Framework.
